Strictly facing uncertainty as Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman tipped to quit

Strictly Come Dancing, is gearing up to dazzle audiences once again as it marks its 20th anniversary this September. However, according to betideas.com, hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are likely to step away from their presenting roles in this year's series.

Their well-documented mutual agreement that they would leave together makes them each 5/4 selections to depart the BBC dance show ahead of this autumn's series.

Claudia, aged 52, has been sharing hosting duties with Tess, aged 55, since 2014. Affectionately referred to as 'Miss Sunshine' by the late Bruce Forsyth, Tess has been a part of the show since its inception in 2004.

But the decision to exit the series may not be entirely in their control if the BBC chooses to cancel the programme following allegations of misconduct which led to two professional dancers being let go.

The odds of Strictly being cancelled this year now stand at 2/1. Even if Strictly persists in 2024, prospects do not appear much brighter for next year's series, with the show's odds-on at 8/11 to be cancelled in 2025, reports the Express.

Lee Astley, spokesperson for betideas.com, explained: "The BBC bosses have an almighty fight on their hands to keep this year's edition of Strictly Come Dancing afloat, with rumours that presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman may quit the show making such efforts even harder.

"The pair's odds of 5/4 to depart the programme before this autumn's series suggests there's a strong chance of that happening, so keep an eye on the 2024 show's odds of 2/1 to be axed altogether."
